Braum has been revealed as a new playable character in 2XKO. A gameplay trailer showcasing what he can do has also been released.
Out of all the characters currently in 2XKO, Braum appears to be the largest. Though he’s a big-bodied fighter, he does not appear to be a grappler since he’s only shown performing a command grab or throw only once.
It would appear that Braum’s weapon of choice is a massive shield. Needless to say, this weapon isn’t just good for attacking as it also makes him a defensive powerhouse.
Regardless, Braum’s attacks end up taking up a massive amount of space on screen. It’s clear which type of players that Braum is intended for.
During the trailer, Braum is shown adopting a certain stance that has him holding his shield forward. He can move slowly back and forth while in this stance, and he’ll apparently block incoming attacks.
This seems like a fairly powerful tactic as the player can then call in an assist to punish button-happy opponents. Following this, Braum can then use this opportunity to begin a combo.
Some of this fighter’s attacks will actually freeze the opposition. Just as expected, this will allow for a free follow up should the freeze effect occur.
We also see that Braum can use his shield and the enemy character as a surfboard. The developers very clearly show how Braum is able to go from corner to corner with this attack.
Finally, it would appear that some cute critters, who Braum himself refer to as “the little ones,” have a role to play within this character’s moveset. At the end of the trailer, Braum is shown defeating an opponent by throwing one of these critters as a projectile, though it’s possible that this is just a taunt similar to how Dudley throws a rose in the Street Fighter series.
