It has been revealed that Borussia Dortmund executives secretly met with Ralf Rangnick in Salzburg yesterday.
The talks reportedly explored the possibility of Rangnick taking over as head coach either immediately or in the summer.
Hans-Joachim Watzke and Lars Ricken represented Dortmund during the discussions, according to Florian Plettenberg on X.

Rangnick, currently Austria’s head coach, has a contract running until the end of 2025.
Plettenberg adds that Rangnick is leaning towards declining Dortmund’s offer for the immediate position.
However, he remains a potential candidate to take charge in the summer.

Dortmund are also considering Niko Kovac, though the former Wolfsburg coach prefers a short-term deal with an option for extension.
