BORDERCOM NEW BOSS RESUMES, SETS NEW STANDARDS

Mr. Noel Ugbong, the newly appointed Director General of Border Communities Development Commission (BORDERCOM) Cross River State, resumes work today.

Accompanied by one of the newly appointed Directors – Monica Odey, Senior  Special Adviser Technical and Marine Services- Architect Eric Akpo, SA Strategic Communication – Andrea Ekeng, Mr. Frank Agaba and Mr. Emmanuel Andoya, the Director General communed with the staff of the Commission in a prayer session, committing the establishment into the hands of God Almighty, in resolve to deliver the responsibility saddled upon them.

Nonetheless, in the unavoidable absence of the outgone DG Surveyor  Eyo Oku, the team were duly received with a warm welcome by the Director of Admin Mrs Alice Asu under his directives. The erstwhile DG through a phone conversation congratulated the new DG and pledged a seamless handover in a more convenient time.

The Director of Admin, Mrs Alice Asu further congratulated and welcomed the new Director General to BORDERCOM, with an overview of the core mandate of the Commission delivered by the Director Planning, Research and Statistics ,Mr. Ibita Nnimmong.
Mr Ibita decried the challenges facing BORDERCOM, ranging from leaking roofs to no project vehicles which he said is an impediment in efficient delivery of delegated duties.

Accordingly, the new BORDERCOM boss commended the Directors and staff, charging them to be prepared for a paradigm shift.

“Be prepared to replicate the energy, poise, enthusiasm and exploits of His Excellency, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade our Governor, in the discharge of your assigned duties”, Mr Noel charged them while insisting that though finance is essential to good service delivery, his leadership will be driven more by intellect. 
He enjoined them to be ready to operate on 80% intellect and 20% financial capital.

“It’s the new order which we must align our operations to be in absolute synchronization with the operations and body language of His Excellency the Governor”.
“This implies that we shall demonstrate competence, innovation, and even produce results beyond the core mandate of the  Commission”.

He added that they must be ready to seek for an alternative funding windows taking into due cognisance the financial predicament of the State.
“We must align with the Spirit of Enterprise and discharge our duties with deep sense of humanity and the fear of God”.
Noel said the team must be ready to put work first and not money with a strong rationale that if the principal, the Governor, is satisfactory impressed, they will enjoy an unlimited and unflinching support”.
