Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Qualified Artisan
Experience
- 3 year demonstrated experience in the role as a Boilermaker
- 3 years demonstrated knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Proven experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, callipers etc.)
Duties
Reading blueprints:
- Follow drawings / blueprints to manufacture tanks and structures
- Align structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame tanks or vats, following blueprints
Casting pieces and bending them into shape:
- Ensure the section edges fit properly and bolt or weld them together.
- Conduct an assessment before starting manufacturing
- Regular inspection and maintenance of tanks and structures
Regularly check the tanks and structures for leaks and weak spots :
Understand the hazards associated with handling hazardous materials and enforce the safe handling of these materials on the plant
