Gov. Ayade

In a press statement signed by Mr Christian Ita the Chief Press Secretary/Special Adviser on Media to the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Mr Ben Ayade, the governor yesterday approved the appointment of more Cross Riverians as aides.
These announcement which was made yesterday on state-owned broadcasting corporation, CRBC, has it that more Personal Assistants (PAs), Special Assistants and Special Advisers (SAs), Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), Director Generals (DGs), Executive Chairmen/Chairladies numbering three hundred (300) have been approved for appointments as aides to Honourable Commissioners, heads of various government agencies, departments, commissions, liaison officers, members of boards, etc.
It will be recalled that recently the governor had promised to make more appointments in addition to the over five hundred already made. With this recent appointment it's obvious that nation wide Gov. Ayade surpasses any state governor in terms of a bloated stoke pile of appointees. It's estimated that with the latest figures there are between 800-1,100 political appointees.
One may have thought that with dwindling financial resources to the state and the worsening of such cash strapped state economy by the nation's recession that a state government would have been embarking on trimming a perceived bloated administration, but alas the reverse is the case in Cross River. Again, these appointments as we already know may not have provisions for specific job descriptions and a designated office space for operations.
Pitching Ayadenomics with traditional/contemporary economic models of cutting cost may not be the best option (I stand to be corrected).
Meanwhile congratulations to Mr Adjah Adjah as Special Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner for ICT and Philomena Agweyi both being former Presidents of National Association of Cross River State Students Worldwide (NACRISS WW).
