After around five years since it was initially revealed, Blazing Strike is almost finally here, and there’s apparently more coming once it does too.
RareBreed Makes Games and Aksys Games announced today that Blazing Strike is set to receive two additional DLC characters for free along with the identity of the first new fighter.
As shown off in their reveal, their latest character is named Antonio Calavera, and we can see from his slick portrait and sprite art that he’s some sort of cybernetic skeletal gunslinger.
The official description calls him a “vigilante who works in the shadows of the society,” but that’s about all we know at the moment since there’s no gameplay footage yet.
They also don’t give a specific release window though it’s stated Antonio and the other DLC fighter will release “soon” after launch for free, which is nice to see.
Blazing Strike is slated to launch with 14 playable characters including just about every fighting game archetype you can think of in its classic 2D style.
