iPhone, iPad bug making Safari crash

According to a report by 9to5Mac, a number of three-letter search strings would cause the Safari bug to be evoked, thus leading the browser to crash. This bug and its search strings included ‘tar’, ‘bes’, ‘wal’, ‘wel’, ‘old’, ‘sta’ and ‘pla’, among multiple potential other string terms.

It is likely that the error was caused due to an erroneous internal server configuration that would have caused the web browser to malfunction when these terms were entered. Such errors are not very uncommon, and can be fixed fairly easily by companies such as Apple who operate operating systems.

The error in question was found across all versions of iOS 16, as reports have claimed. The issue has now been fixed as well by an internal server-end fix from Apple’s end, which means that as users, you would not be needed to apply a fix manually through a future software update.

91mobiles could not independently verify the issue as of today, and Safari appears to be working fine now on both iOS and iPadOS even with the use of the above mentioned search terms.
