Bijou Phillips is turning the page. The actress, known for her role in Almost Famous, recently stepped back into the public eye. She was spotted at a 2024 Grammys viewing party on February 4th.
She took this opportunity to share some personal updates. This was her first public appearance since filing for divorce from Danny Masterson in September. Masterson, her husband, was convicted of rape.
Phillips seemed to be in good spirits. “I’m doing good,” she shared with E! News at a Janie’s Fund charity event. She also mentioned her 9-year-old daughter, Fianna Francis Masterson. She described them as a “great little team.”
Phillips, now 43, is focusing on her daughter. Meanwhile, Masterson is serving time in prison.
Masterson, known for his role in That ’70s Show, was arrested in 2020. He faced three charges of forcible rape. In May, he was found guilty of raping two women between 2001 and 2003. The incidents took place at his Los Angeles home.
The Associated Press reported that the jury couldn’t reach a verdict on a third count. This count alleged that he raped a former girlfriend.
Fast forward to September 7th. A Los Angeles Superior Court Judge handed down Masterson’s sentence. The 47-year-old actor was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
