Manchester United have made a strong start to the transfer window by securing the signatures of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
The club is now focusing on bringing in additional talent, targeting players such as Manuel Ugarte from PSG, and Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
On the outgoing side, United has already parted ways with Donny van de Beek, Willy Kambwala, Mason Greenwood, Alvaro Fernandez, and Omari Forson.
Centredevils previously relayed a report that the club’s hierarchy plans to sell at least seven big-name players, including Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Mason Greenwood.
Besiktas make a move for Antony
And now, recent developments indicate that Besiktas have ‘made a move’ to sign Antony, according to Turkish journalist Ertan Suzgun.
While United is open to selling Antony, the player himself reportedly prefers to remain at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, a report from talkSport claims that Antony is high on the list of potential sales for United this transfer window.
The club’s strategy is driven by the need to trim the wage bill and generate funds for a planned rebuild under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
This rebuilding process has already seen the departures of Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial, with other players on substantial contracts also expected to leave if suitable offers come in.
Antony’s case to stay at Manchester United further deteriorates as Amad has shown excellent form lately. He was great last season in his cameos and has been really good in the preseason so far.
Antony’s underwhelming performance at United last season has made his future at the club uncertain, and he could be set to leave after just two seasons.
