Benue State Govt declares every Fridays work free for civil servants to work on their farms

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has sign every Friday of the week to be a work free day for Civil servants in the State to enable them work on their farms.

The statement was disclosed on Wednesday by Gov Samuel Ortom after the end of the State Executive Council.

Ortom said the decision was taken to enable as many workers as possible to produce food to feed their families in the current economic downturn which has made the regular payment of salaries a major challenge.

He, however, stated that the work free day would commence from Friday June 10 and would last until the end of July 2016.

The governor also announced that he would take a two-week vacation which was part of his annual leave from Monday, June 13 to work on his farm too.

But, will this help cap the situations surrounding the state financially? Leave your comments and opinions below, thanks.
