Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams has asked former local government legislators to be honourable in character and behaviour within and outside their environment.
Rt. Hon. Eteng stated this on the instance of a visit by All Former Councillors Forum of Nigeria, Cross River chapter at the Assembly complex in Calabar.
The Speaker who lauded the visit by the former lawmakers said the past parliamentarians have not been treated very well in their various wards, irrespective of their sacrifices and contributions to both the party and their communities.
However, the speaker while maintaining that he understands the dare challenges the councillors are passing through, adviced them to always seek an audience with him in time of need.
“I understand what you are going through, if there is any challenge, please try and seek an audience with me. Because as a Speaker, my first constituency is you, and let us maintained the integrity that comes with it”.
He, therefore, advised them to be light bearers wherever they found themselves.
