Many of the ladies of Tekken 8 received a noticeable makeover along with some standout new additions, and it seems we can thank one special person in particular for a multitude of them.
Bayonetta Character Designer Mari Shimazaki recently shared her work on Tekken 8 with concept art for Reina, Asuka Kazama and Jun Kazama that helped bring their flashy costumes to life in the game.
Reina is obviously going to be the main draw for many as the popular newcomer to the series, and you can definitely get some Bayonetta vibes from her artwork, especially in the face, long legs and fashion.
These character design sheets are cool as well because it gives a closer look at the finer details included from the pieces of Reina’s jacket down to her eye makeup and nail polish.
On top of her default attire, Shimazaki also apparently worked on Reina’s third outfit too with the artwork shared in all of the little intricacies front, back and side to side.
The most intricate, however, is definitely Jun’s with all of the different embroidery featured all throughout her top as well as her gloves, pants and even socks.
It was apparently too much for even Shimazaki to tackle by herself according to her follow-up post, which makes sense when you look at all of the patterns laid out.
And Asuka’s might be “simpler” than the other two characters, but that doesn’t mean there still wasn’t a ton of work and detail that went into her new fashion too.
You can check out Shimazaki’s concept art for Tekken 8 below and see every little thing for yourself that had to be drawn out to make the characters truly pop in the game.
