Bassey nets winner for Fulham as Man City, Arsenal secure big wins

Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey was in high spirits on Saturday after helping Fulham secure a big victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Alex Iwobi was also in action for Fulham while Ola Aina featured for Forest, but it was Emily Smith Rowe who opened scoring for Fulham before Chris Wood equalised.

Bassey’s 62nd-minute goal sealed the deal for the hosts as they move up to eighth in the league and boost their chances of European qualification.

At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City thrashed Newcastle United 4-0, with Omar Marmoush scoring a hat-trick on 19, 24, and 33 minutes before James McAtee finished off in the 84th minute.

Egyptian Marmoush, who joined City for £59m from Eintracht Frankfurt last month, made a bright start for the hosts and put them in command throughout the encounter.
