Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, aka Basketmouth, has called out movie producers who receive huge sums from streaming platforms but only use 10% to produce films.
The humour merchant who made the disclosure in an interview with Arise TV said that such movie producers use the rest of 90% of the funds received from streaming platforms to buy houses and cars.

Basketmouth, who made the claim amid reports that Netflix is exiting the Nigerian movie market, stated that he will not mention names but that those he is referring to know themselves.
He said, ‘’There was a lot of money in the movie industry when these streaming platforms came in. They gave money to these producers. These producers will take the $1.5 billion or whatever they gave them; they would use about 10% of that money to make the movie. They are listening! They cannot deny it. I cannot call names, but you know yourselves”.
