Capcom Cup X kicks off again today as the qualified competitors start in on the group play portion of the event. Fans and spectators alike are already in attendance as the tournament action is kicking off here shortly, and those who are there are getting their first chance at playing as Ed, the game’s upcoming DLC character.
Footage has already started to surface of the new build that features Ed, and some players are claiming that there are character balance changes present in this build. Based on some of the clips going live on social media, it appears that this is indeed the case.
Twitter user noonches is in attendance and has already uploaded a couple of clips showing some of the balance changes that appear to have been made. Up first, we see both JP and Jamie with a couple of very interesting alterations.
The first change noonches reports is that the damage after a successful Overdrive Amnesia from JP looks to be far more scaled now. We see Jamie’s throw punished by the OD counter here, and JP fires into a common punish that players often use when a regular throw is countered.
We can see that the sequence before the level 3 does quite a bit less damage than we’d normally expect. To compare, our own John “Veloc1raptor” Guerrero has recorded the same sequence, and the damage is a lot more than the new clip shows.
