Bakassi Local Government Chairman, Hon. Iyadim Amboni Iyadim has appealed to both the Federal and State Government to send financial assistance to enable him revamp the completely looted Council during the EndSars.
Hon. Iyadim made this passionate appeal on Monday when a team from the No Sidon Look LG Project Assessment Tour visited the council.
During the tour, No Sidon Look observed that the 52- Unit bedroom housing commissioned by Governor Ben Ayade for the rehabilitation of the Bakassi Displaced Persons were massively looted dry and majority of the refugees have been rendered homeless.
Also, the Council, as well as the legislative block were completely looted and rendered inhabitable, except upon revamp. For this, Hon. Iyadim has said it’s the reason for his inability to achieve little or nothing so far.
Asked about the focus of his administration before assumption of office, Iyadim said “when I became the seventh executive chairman of Bakassi Local Government area, I created a website where government information are usually posted for public consumption.
“I also intended to prepare a place for meetings and engagement between myself and my council members as well as the legislative members.”
These hindrances were the reasons Hon. Iyadim was unable to achieve anything in the last one year.
Therefore, the Director General of No Sidon Look, Mr Portrait Peterson joined the Chairman to appeal for support to enable him (Iyadim) commence administrative duties in earnest, for the development of the grassroot.
