The Cross River State Government through the Ministry of Health have received drugs worth ten million naira from partners as they look to kickstart the State Health Insurance Scheme also known as Ayadecare.
Receiving the drugs was the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Inyang Asibong, who said the drugs were the first set of medical items received under the scheme. She also said that the scheme will kick off soon as the State Government are working assiduously to that effect.
Meanwhile the chairman of the CalaPharm Board, Mr Bekpanke Iwheye-Adie has assured the government and people of the state of their readiness to ensure the Calabar Pharmaceutical Industry lives to its bidding as the CalaPharm is expected to manufacture the drugs to be used in Ayadecare.
The Chairman made this statement following the inauguration of the Board by His Excellency Sen Prof Ben Ayade through the Commissioner for Health at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Calabar.
Dr Asibong assured the Board of the State Government’s support throughout the project whilst urging the Board members to be steadfast in their discharge of duties as the State as a whole is counting on them to deliver.
