In an interactive segment on Cross River Broadcasting Corporations – CRBC between the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Communication and Advocacy and the Office of the Special Assistant Strategic Communication, Ms. Beatrice Akpala noted that the G-Money initiative is to monumentalize the OPM initiative of 2015 and the intellectual money concept respectively, which are key cardinal funding windows of Gov Ayade’s laudable projects in the face of very lean resources from poor Federal Government allocations.
She stated that with proven records, the two aforementioned initiatives have yielded plausible results, birthing mega projects in every Local Government of the State with core concentration on agriculture which she describes as the future.
“The G-Money initiative is about agriculture, which is a means of encouraging Crossriverians to go into the agricultural value chain”
“If you are a farmer, be a commercial farmer, raise the bar, add value to your farming process, so you would be able to sell at a commercial scale” – she added.
While stressing on the need for individual farmers to expand the scope to a large commercial value, she said that Government of His Excellency Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade KSJi, would be readily available to partner with individuals who have the desire to exports these products.
Reacting accordingly, the SA Strategic Communication Mr. Andrea Ekeng noted that the initiative has further been expanded in scope with a trickle down effect to cover the very poor and vulnerable who cannot afford a square meal in a day, thereby kindling the hope to mature into the millionaires scheme (G-money) of the Government of the day.
He said, “while the airspace is still being heated with the G-Money initiative, the Governor has also taken it further to empower the poor and vulnerable in remote areas of the State by releasing another N180million as counterpart funds for the World Bank assisted Youth Employment and Social Support Project YESSO- program so as to put food on the table of thousands and create a social balance”.
He described the initiative as an enabling catalyst that will boost the G-Money goals, stating that with the over 10,000 beneficiaries from the scheme, one can conclude that the project is carefully programmed to succeed.
