Qualifications
Qualified Electrician
Millwright
Degree/Diploma in Mechatronics
Experience
5 year’s demonstrated experience with automated equipment and/or dealing with programmable controllers
Duties
Machinery optimal efficiency
Execute predictive and preventive maintenance on automation equipment and systems including but not limited to PLC/DCS control systems hardware and software, HMI, operating systems, servers, and instrumentation
Performs routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs
To ensure compliant, accurate, and timely completion of corrective, emergency, and preventive maintenance on automation systems and equipment
Ensures that machines are always in a good state of repair
Hazard identification
Understand the hazards associated with handling hazardous materials and enforce the safe handling of these materials on the plant
Respond to and repair emergency automation issues
Production output and productivity
Ensure that the plant is started and shut down safely and correctly, following correct start-up and shut down procedures
Ensures all product produced and material used meets minimum quality standards and specification
Report to manager on shift performance in terms of key performance areas.
Understand the key elements that support productivity and ensure that these elements are applied in the plant
Training
Ensure Assembly Assistants and Operators understand and adhere to critical engineering compliance measures
Compliance with relevant industry regulations
Occupational Health and Safety Act
Explosives Act and Regulations
Maintenance and Engineering standards
