An auto crash has claimed the live of a five-year-old girl, injured four others in Anambra State.
The incident was disclosed in a statement in Awka on Wednesday by the State Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga.
He said the fatal motor accident occurred on Wednesday, 11/9/2024 by 7:15 am along Onitsha- Enugu Old road by Oye agu junction Abagana in Njikoka local government area of the state.
According to Ikenga, following the unfortunate incident, the State Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has caution drivers/transporters to always do the necessary checks before plying the road, especially during this Ember month.
He noted that preliminary information reveals that the accident occurred due to the break failure of the Toyota Sienna vehicle carrying passengers and en route to Lagos rammed into traders selling by the roadside at Oye Agu junction.
“Furthermore, the CP while condoling the family of the deceased directs arrest and interrogation of the driver.
“To this end, the Vehicle has been recovered at the Station as the investigation is ongoing, please.”
