Niger Delta militant Asari Dokubo has recently threatened the APC presidential candidate Muhammed Buhari and politicians of opposition party on the grounds that the 2015 General elections must be in favour of president Goodluck Jonathan.

Dokubo had issued this threat in Bayelsa State while mobilizing voters on behalf of president Goodluck Jonathan for the soon General elections on the 14th of February 2015.

The flaw affected models fitted with BMW’s ConnectedDrive software, which uses an on-board Sim card.

The software operated door locks, air conditioning and traffic updates but no driving firmware such as brakes or steering, BMW said.

No cars have actually been hacked, but the flaw was identified by German motorist association ADAC.

ADAC’s researchers found the cars would try to communicate via a spoofed phone network, leaving potential hackers able to control anything activated by the Sim.

The patch, which would be applied automatically, included making data from the car encrypted via HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure) – the same security commonly used for online banking, BMW said.
“On the one hand, data are encrypted with the HTTPS protocol, and on the other hand, the identity of the BMW Group server is checked by the vehicle before data are transmitted over the mobile phone network,” it said.

This should have already been in place, said security expert Graham Cluley.
“You would probably have hoped that BMW’s engineers would have thought about [using HTTPS] in the first place,” he wrote on his blog.

Six persons have been killed in another suicide bombing yesterday at the resident of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the bomb blast occurred around 1:20pm on Sunday right in front of the residence of Sabo Garbu, the PDP candidate for potiskum/Nangere federal constituency in the state.

The bomber had gone right into the residence where the party candidate was hosting a lot of party supporters and detonated the explosives. Six persons were confirmed dead while several injured.

Though authorities are yet to confirm the incident, hospital personnel disclosed that six dead person were brought in from the blast along several injured persons.

There are raised suspicions that the attack was the making of the Boko Haram sect which has carried out previous attacks both in Yobe and other states of Nigeria.
