  • POLITICS: Could This Be The Reasons Why The APC Wants To Oust The PDP!?

    By Pius Odu Odey

JONATHAN’S GOVERNMENT IS CORRUPT – THEY WANT CHANGE!
    1. Obasanjo’s government spent $16bn for power, and only achieved to change the name of NEPA to PHCN, yet some people and Obasanjo says Jonathan’s Government is corrupt.
    2. Obasanjo’s government, Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar were involved in a $180m Hallibuton bribery scam that made world news, Yet Obasanjo says Jonathan’s Government is corrupt.
    3. Obasanjo’s government, Obasanjo and Atiku spent about N1tn with Siemens for the production of National ID Card, with a N34bn bribery scam. I am yet to get mine, Yet Obasanjo says Jonathan is corrupt.
    4. Bola Ahmed Tinubu used Babatunde Fashola to build 1 kilometer of road for N1.2bn, while Akpabio builds same for N120m. Yet Tinubu and Fashola says Jonathan is corrupt.
    5. Bola Tinubu and Fashola spent $460 million (N55 billion at 2009 exchange rate of N118/$1) of tax payer’s money in the name of Lekki-Epe Concession Company (LCC) to build a toll gate, and yet taxed Lagosians even after claiming to buy back the concession, for using the road with no records, yet Tinubu, Fashola and Obasanjo says Jonathan is corrupt. (Check Jimmy Agbaje’s theory of ‘Vested Interest’)
    6. Buhari delegated all powers to Afri-Project Consortium (APC), a consulting firm owned by his Wife’s brother, which allowed his Inlaw’s firm to Initiate all projects for the PTF, Approve all projects for the PTF and Execute all projects for the PTF. APC was able to make away with N25,758,532,444 (Twenty-five billion, seven hundred and fifty-eight million, five hundred and thirty-two thousand, four hundred and fourty-four Naira). Buhari says he did not know.. Yet Buhari, Tinubu claims Jonathan is corrupt. (He wouldn’t know again when given another chance especially because he’s too old now)
    7. Rotimi Ameachi spent N50bn to build a 2kilometer monorail that is yet to be completed. And Ameachi, Tinubu, Buhari says Jonathan is corrupt.
    8. 56,000 ghost workers were discovered and terminated, so former President called President Jonathan to leave the 56,000 ghost workers to remain as status quo, when President Jonathan ignored, Obasanjo claimed that Jonathan is corrupt.
Nigeria was rated the 2nd must corrupt Nation in the world as at 1999 – 2007 when Obasanjo was President, then rated 3rd from 2007 till 2011. In 2014, Nigeria is rated 37th in the world, with a four months review that will place Nigeria at 46th, yet Obasanjo says Jonathan is corrupt.
SHOW ME ONE STOREY BUILDING THAT BELONGS TO JONATHAN IN NIGERIA.
The status quo willl change whether disgruntled past leaders who don’t wanna retire from their perpetual fiefdomlike attitude in Nigeria like it or not.
Goodluck is coming back again if una like make una set our country ablaze, the fire go quench after four years.

  • POLITICS : Jega Registers 5 Million Under-aged Northerners!

    By Lizzy Adie.

It is expected that from age 18 years,  a citizen of Nigeria is eligible to register for election. But now under-aged voter registration has been recorded in the northern States by Prof. Jega, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Chairman. It is reported that over 5 millions under aged have been registered by INEC Chairman with the awareness of the All Progressive Congress (APC) leaders.

The question becomes: Who is now fooling who? If this story is anything to go by, it impels any thinking Nigerian or observer of Nigeria’s political space to question the quality of ‘change’ the opposition party in Nigeria is promising.

This bring to mind the last general polls where Muhammadu Buhari, then the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change CPC, is alleged to have imported Chadians to cast their ballot in the 2011 polls.

Any ways, ‘change’ is an ambiguous concept. As such, the presidential candidate may have been correct when recently he contrasted between ‘change’ and ‘transformation’.

    I rest my case.
  • TECHNOLOGY: North Korea Fires Its 'Cutting Edge' Missiles

    By Eyizle Ene-Okon

The North Korean tests anti-ship missile is

said to have been developed in the country,

Analyst says the missile actually look

    similar to Russian Kh-35E anti-ship

    cruise missile.

    Announcement comes before annual

    U.S.-South Korea exercises that draws

    heavy criticism from North Korea

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un

inspects the test-firing of a new type

    of “anti-ship rocket.”

    North Korea fires ‘cutting-edge’ missiles

    North Korea tested what it

described as a new type of “cutting-

edge” anti-ship missile with its leader Kim

Jong Un pictured beaming at the launch,

as shown in state media on Saturday.

But some analysts are saying North

Korea’s touted missiles appear to be

    Russian designs.

The announcement of the test also

occurs just weeks before the annual

    joint U.S.-South Korea military

    exercises, that annually draws colorful

    rhetoric and promises of catastrophe

    from Pyongyang.

The test-firing took place in the East

Sea and the North Korean media

    boasted that its “intelligent rocket

precisely sought, tracked and hit the

‘enemy’ ship after taking a safe flight.”

    The South Korean Defense ministry

    said five short-range missiles were

fired on Sunday with a range of 200

    kilometers (124 miles).

The purpose of the new missiles are

for North Korea to defend its waters

and “strongly react to any attempt of

the enemy’s fleets of warships for

    military attack, through close combat

or distant combat,” according to North

    Korea’s state-run KCNA news agency.

North Korean media also showed a

    beaming Kim standing with military

generals who were applauding. It also

    reported that Kim expressed

“satisfaction” over the “highest level” of

    rockets being developed in North

    Korea.

But that point is being disputed, as one

    analytical officer wrote the weapon

appeared to be a Russian Kh-35E anti-

    ship cruise missile.

    “Whether the KPN (Korean People’s

    Navy) acquired the system directly

from Russia or a third party is

unclear,” wrote Joseph S. Bermudez in

the North Korea analysis site, 38

    North.

    “Should the new system be

    successfully integrated into the KPN

and widely deployed it would represent

    a significant step towards redressing

    the service’s obsolescence and

increasing the threat poised to South

Korean and U.S. Navy vessels in the

    region.”

Bermudez also cautioned that this was

only a “potential development” as North

Korea’s military has a “long history of

    slow and often poor system

    integration.”

  • HEALTH: Fracture: Prevention And First Aid Measure

    By William Oyo-Ita
A fracture is the medical term for a broken bone and it is said to occur when a physical force stronger than the bone is applied to it. Resulting in injury to the bone, a fracture ranges between minor cracks to shattering of the bone.
Fractures are said to occur due to the following:- Trauma due to a bad fall, road accidents and contact sports like football and rugby- Medical conditions such as osteoporosis, bone cancer and low calcium levels- Extremes of age; the bones become more brittle as people age and adults are more likely to suffer fractures from falls than younger children. The severity of a fracture depends upon its location, as well as the extent of damage done to the bone and surrounding tissues.
There are easy signs and symptoms for detecting fractures. You can suspect a fracture if a person complains of pain, swelling and even bruising of the skin around an affected bone or displays inability to lift or move the affected limb. Other signs include deformity such as the limb laying at an abnormal angle, shortening of one limb with respect to the other, the presence of a wound on the skin below which the broken edge of a bone can be seen.
Not all fractures result in pain immediately after they occur; in some cases, the pain may start hours after the injury. However, it has been noted that certain complications may arise if the fractures are not treated promptly.
These possible complications include:—-Damage to the surrounding blood vessels or nerves Infection of the affected bone and the surrounding tissues Mal-union – occurring when the fracture heals in an abnormal position Non-union – occurring when the fracture does not heal as expected. Other medical complications such as fat embolism, death of the bone, etc
The time taken for fractures to heal depends on the age (children tend to heal faster), the health status of the injured person and the type of fracture.
Factors That Will Aid the Prevention of Fractures 1.Eat a healthy, balanced diet rich in calcium and Vitamin D. 2.Mild exercise is good for the muscles and bones. 3.Prevent falls by maintaining a clean, safe environment at home and in the office.
First Aid for Fractures If a person is suspected to have a fracture, be sure to follow the first aid steps below: 1.Immobilize the injured area, i.e. try to limit movement around the injured bone as much as possible by applying a splint or by providing support for it. 2.With an open fracture, cover the exposed bone with a sterile dressing to reduce the risk of infection. 3.Call the emergency number in your location and get the person to the nearest hospital.

  • RELATIONSHIP: On-line Dating Mistakes Guys Must Avoid.

    By Lizzy Adie.

”Hello !  You are sweet” is a bad start for a conversation. Figure out your lines well and select your first start of conversation.
Girls don’t owe you a reply. It works both ways, if you send a message, it doesn’t mean she must reply. Try to be gentle and calm. If she doesn’t reply, never be bothered.
Carefully select and check your spellings and grammar well.
Don’t ask for her cell phone number on the first conversation. Allow it flow for some days or weeks before asking.
Don’t ask for her nude pictures, it’s crazy because you never can tell who she is.
Ask about her life,  don’t just tell her how beautiful she looks only. Also ask her how life is with her, otherwise she would never want to meet you.
First date should not be too long, the best way is to have a walk or have a coffee together. Don’t plan something that last more than 2-3 hours.
Never ask her about her past life or relationship history.
  • POLITICS: INEC Finally Postpones Election

    By Efio-Ita Nyok

Information reaching our news/politics desks suggest that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC under the leadership of her czar, Professor Attahiru Jega, has finally calved into pressure to shift the 2015 general elections once scheduled for 14 and 28 February 2015 to 28 March and 11 April respectively.

The presidential and national assembly polls will hold on 28 March while the state elections will hold on 11 April. This decision was announced yesterday night by the INEC boss, Prof. Jega in a press briefing in Abuja.

According to the INEC Chair, the decision to postpone elections was arrived at after the military formally notified INEC of their decision not to partake in the general elections on 14 and 28 February. And further meetings with stakeholders.

According to the military, Nigeria’s armed forces are on a 6 weeks programme to tackle the Boko Haram insurgents in the northeast of Nigeria beginning from 14 February.

It seem to me that the decision of the military brass not to partake in the 14 February date was a ploy by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP and President Jonathan to frustrate the election of 14 February, Since the powers that be couldn’t pressurise Jega into postponing elections after the Council of State meetings where Jega expressed readiness to conduct elections on the said date.

Other quarters are of the opinion that INEC is comfortable with that decision owing to the fact that, though they had wanted to do the biddings of their boss, Mr. Jonathan, they hadn’t a justification. It is here that the military came in handy as the stooge of the Presidency and the PDP.

So, it could be said that the Presidency through her appendage in the military blackmailed INEC into postponing elections. My prayers is that the presidency will not come up with another tactics if the 28 March and 11 April schedule is perceived not to be favourable to her.
