LBW Community College President Dr. Brock Kelley was recently recognized by the Auburn Alumni Association as he was selected as a 20 Under 40 award recipient.
Each year, the Auburn Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Council nominates Auburn University young alumni and friends for the 20 Under 40 award. This award was established to recognize members of the Auburn Family for extraordinary accomplishments, significant professional achievements, and distinguished service to others.
“I’m honored to be recognized by Auburn University. Auburn provided me with a wonderful opportunity to enhance my knowledge in my professional career as well as expand my network of fellow Tigers. I’m humbled to receive this award and to be a part of this group of recipients,” Kelley said.
Each nominee must show how they make a substantial impact in their industry, field, or community and demonstrate the ideals of the Auburn Creed. Nominated by their peers, the 20 Under 40 award winners are the next generation of leaders in the Auburn Family.
Kelley obtained his Ph.D. in Adult Education from Auburn in 2018.
“Brock Kelley is the president of Lurleen B. Wallace Community College. A former regional director of workforce development for the Alabama Community College System, he helped create education-to-industry pipelines, and was instrumental in developing career awareness and preparation across the state. Kelley founded the Alabama RISE Program at LBW to train individuals with disabilities for the workforce, and worked with community colleges to make connections between educational institutions, highlighted by his integral part in the JumpstartAL initiative,” an Auburn Alumni Association statement read.
He will be presented with the 20 Under 40 award on Nov. 2.
