We recently took notice of Atatadayo’s Instagram page. It’s here where she’s pulled off a number of successful cosplays.
Of course, those of us in the FGC should immediately be able to recognize the “First Lady of Fighting Games,” Chun-Li. She’s earned this title due to being the first female character to be playable in a fighting game back in 1991 when Street Fighter 2 hit the arcades.
Due to her iconic status, she, along with Ryu and Akuma, tend to make appearances in crossovers more often than others from Capcom’s Street Fighter series. However, it should be mentioned that Chun-Li has never appeared in
a game that Ryu wasn’t also present for.
Regardless, Atatadayo is able to demonstrate just how flexible she is during her cosplay of Chun-Li. This is a common pose that Chun-Li takes in the games, so it’s important for any cosplayer to be prepared for this difficult feat.
As it turns out, Atatadayo has also cosplayed as Cammy White, formerly known as Shadaloo’s “Killer Bee.” Though she was initially a low tier throughout Street Fighter 2 after first appearing in Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers back in 1993, she’s typically recognized as a high tier or top tier in later entries.
Atatadayo has opted to cosplay as Cammy as she appears in Street Fighter 5. The harnesses and gun holster are references to one of Cammy’s earlier concept designs before her Street Fighter 2 incarnation was settled on.
It would seem that Atatadayo also has featured herself cosplaying as Cammy as she appears in Street Fighter 6. Like other returning characters in Street Fighter 6, Cammy’s appearance and design has been completely reworked as a way of showcasing how things have changed after the events of Street Fighter 5 and Street Fighter 3: Third Strike.
