The Cross River State Government has announced the appointment of Prof Patrick Nyong Asuquo as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship.
Other Principal Officers appointed included Dr. Gabriel O. Egbe as the Registrar and Dr Eyo Bassey Ekpe as the Bursar.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Gill Nsa, it stated that Dr Christopher Okoi Offem was appointed the University Librarian, Chief (Dr) Akpeh Edung Ogon, Director of Physical Planning while Engr. Bassey Ibok Eyo was appointed Director of Works and Services.
According to the statement, the appointments take immediate effect adding that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Asuquo was until the appointment, the Provost of the erstwhile College of Education in Akamkpa.
The statement read in part,” The Acting Governor of Cross River State, Hon Peter Odey has approved the appointment of key officials for the management of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship in Akamkpa Local Government Area.
“The management team will among other duties and responsibilities oversee the successful transition and takeoff of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship in Akamkpa Local Government Area, formerly, College of Education.”
