Aston Villa have completed their signing of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, with the striker set to be at Villa Park for the rest of the season.
The deal comprises of a loan move with Villa covering 70% of Rashford’s significant £325,000 per week salary, meaning Villa will be paying just under £5.5 million towards his wages for the rest of the season.
However, the Villains also now have the option to buy Rashford at the end of the season for £40 million.
Unfortunately for Villa, Rashford has been out of action since the middle of December, having not played a minute of football since being replaced by Rasmus Hojlund in United’s 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen.
As such, the Premier League side are concerned about his fitness levels, wanting to ensure he’s still ready to play at the top level with Villa competing in the Premier League and Champions League.
Now, Aston Villa News has reported that a plan is in place to make sure the 27-year-old is ready to slot into Unai Emery’s team.

Aston Villa plan to settle Marcus Rashford into the squad
Ex-Villa scout Bryan King has reported that some friendlies could be arranged with local clubs behind closed doors.
King commented: “Rashford has definitely been guaranteed minutes.”
He continued: “What is that going to mean for Ollie Watkins? Will they now go two up top? Rashford would have been made first-team guarantees, without a doubt.
“However, he will need some match fitness because he hasn’t played for a while. They will probably arrange a couple of games for him, a mixture of substitutes and fringe players against a local club.
“I think that is something that will be arranged, a game against Walsall or West Brom or Birmingham, something of that nature.”
It’s unclear yet if any such friendly has been arranged or is on the cards with Rashford’s signing only recently being announced, however the fixtures would certainly help him get up to speed once more.
