Aston Villa have had a tremendous season, with manager Unai Emery leading the team to a fourth place finish in this seasons Premier League.
Emery joined the club in November 2022 when Villa were sat in eleventh place. By the end of the season, Emery had turned the squad around to being seventh overall, securing European Football in the European Conference League.
This season, Villa made the most of their opportunity playing European football, getting all the way through to the Semi-finals, unfortunately being knocked out of the competition by Olympiacos with an aggregate score of 6-2.
In the Premier League though, Villa built on their previous success and ended the season three places higher than their previous year, securing a slot in the Champions League next year.
With the increasing standard of football being played by the Birmingham based team, as well as the heightened intensity of opposition that they’ll be facing in Europe this season, Villa are dipping into the transfer market to strengthen their squad.
The main target that’s emerged for the Villains has also of late been linked to both United and Spurs, making a potential move to the Premier League no new idea the target.
OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo is the man being scouted by the three Premier League clubs, with L’Equipe reporting that Nice could accept an offer around the margin of €25 million this transfer window. This new price tag attached to the centre-back is significantly smaller than the €60 million that Nice demanded for the star back in January.
Whilst Villa have now entered the race for Todibo’s signature, United may till have the edge, with Villa needing to sell off some key assets before being able to buy anyone in order to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Alongside this, Todibo has already confirmed that conversations have already begun with United around an Old Trafford move, although no official offer has been known to be submitted to Nice as of yet.
