The race for a well sought after midfielder has taken an interesting new turn, with Manchester United and Arsenal boy eyeing up the young La Liga star.

As with any club, both teams are looking to the summer transfer window to fix issues in the squad, create more depth and ultimately improve their teams ready for the fight of next season.

With their highly successful season, coming second in the Premier League only to Manchester City, Arsenal aren’t expected to make any dramatic changes to their squad, only to strengthen an already solid group.

However, having finished eighth in the Premier League, with a win in the FA Cup Final on Saturday being their only chance of gaining European football, Manchester United will no doubts be having a very different strategy in the coming transfer window.

Both teams, are reported by Teamtalk to be getting ready for a race to sign an exciting prospect from the top tier in Spain, with news coming through that is, price tag is significantly under his buyout clause.

Not only are these two British giants racing for the signature of Javi Guerra, but Teamtalk also report that there is interest from Newcastle and Barcelona for Valencia’s central midfielder.

The 21-year-old Spaniard is currently making himself known with standout performances playing as a box-to-box No.8 for Valencia and their fight to avoid relegation last year. Meanwhile, this year in 39 games he’s managed to find the back of the net four times with an added assist in all competitions.

Despite having a contract until 2027, it’s being reported that his asking price is below €30 million. With a release clause of £100 million, such a reduced transfer fee could be an absolute steal for such a talent for whoever can sign the youngster.
