ASATU Youth Leaders Rally Support For Mrs Soludo’s Healthy Living Initiative In Anambra

Anambra youth leaders under the umbrella of Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU) Youth Wing, has key into governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s wife, Nonye Soludo Healthy Living Initiative in the state.

Speaking during a one-day seminar/inauguration of Community Lady Organizers (CLO), held at the ASATU Secretariat hall, old government house Awka, over the weekend, the President-General of the Association, Comrade Ken Okoli, said the essence of the partnership is to intensifies campaign for a healthy lifestyles across the 179 communities that constitute the state.

According to Okoli, one of the five key thematic areas for youths in the policy documents of 2019 in Nigeria is the promotion of health and healthy lifestyle, which is in line with Mrs. Nonye Soludo’s healthy living initiatives in the State.

He said that this is the first time in the history of the state, ASATU Youths and other related youths bodies in Anambra would come together to support governor’s wife initiative.

“We have come together to form this advocacy group called the “Community Lady Organizers (CLO)” to aggressively drive the message of healthy living across the 179 communities in the state.

Okoli maintained that ASATU Youth Wing under his watch would play an advisory role to make sure the objective of the advocacy is achieved.

“We are keying into this crusade to support our governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo who have come alongside her husband with a clear vision for the Anambra people.

Okoli assured Mrs Soludo of their support towards her healthy living initiative in the state, Nigeria and the World at large.

On her remark, the ASATU Women Wing acting leader, Lady Joy Otti, commended the State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo and his wife for finding the association worthy to serve the people of Anambra State.

In their separate speeches, speakers of the event, Anambra APGA women leader, Mrs Esther Onyekesi, Mrs Nnenna Nwadike, ASTUC Chairman, Sir Vin Dike, Dr Uju Okoye and Comr. Osita Ozalagba, urged the newly inaugurated CLO crusaders to ensure effective sensitization campaign in their various communities.

The event with the Theme; Raising Healthy Living Advocates in the 179 communities of Anambra State” also featured unveiling of Healthy Living Advocacy Booklet sponsored by the traditional ruler of Umueri community, Igwe Ben Emeka and the installation of advisers to Community Lady Organizers (CLO).
