Recently, the University of Calabar announced the promotion of Very Reverend Father Professor Julius Agba Ada to the rank of full Professor. Ada, a distinguished scholar, administrator and devoted Roman Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Ogoja, represents hard work and scholarly dedication.
This momentous achievement in the field of Business Management is particularly notable; it makes him the first Nigerian Catholic priest to attain this rank in the discipline.
Reverend Fr. Ada’s academic journey is marked by versatility and a deep commitment to knowledge advancement.
His impressive qualifications include a Bachelor of Philosophy (B.Phil) and Bachelor of Sacred Theology (B.D) from the Urban University, Rome, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), an MBA from the University of Calabar. He furthered his studies with an M.Sc in Management and a Ph.D. in Business Management from Ebonyi State University (EBSU).

His core area of niche is Organizational Behaviour, which reflects his passion for service, human dynamics and institutional transformation.

Head of Department, Business Management, University of Calabar (2015–2017)
Secretary, Cross River State Anti-Tax Agency
Member, Health Research Ethics Committee, UCTH (2011–2020)
He is also a respected academic with numerous affiliations, such as a Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration (2015).
Fellow, Institute of Policy Management and Development (2017).
Member, Technical Advisory Group (TAG), Higher Education Book Development Intervention. Member, TETFund (2024) till date.
Reverend Father Professor Julius Ada embodies the idea of holistic development, skillfully balancing his pastoral ministry with his scholarly pursuits, serving as a mentor to students and a compassionate priest to his congregation.
