A few days ago on X, user Jaeon009 drew some Marvel Rivals skins that are based on the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise.
Not only do they capture the essence of the Marvel Rivals art style really well, but there are also some really fun picks from Marvel vs. Capcom history here attached to some of Marvel Rivals’ standout characters.

In case there are any characters you didn’t catch the references on, the first image has Black Widow as Jill Valentine (Resident Evil 5-design as she appeared in Marvel vs. Capcom 3), Captain America as Captain Commando, Venom in Nemesis T-Type drip and finally Iron Fist going full shoto as Ryu.
On the second image, Star-Lord tries his hand at a Dante cosplay, Hela dresses up as Morrigan, Rocket Raccoon grabs Viewtiful Joe’s gear and Peni Parker does her best Tron Bonne.
Finally, the last picture has Winter Soldier as Bionic Commando’s Spencer, Iron Man as X from Mega Man X and finally Jeff the Land Shark isn’t actually cosplaying anything… but has found himself a Servbot companion to ride off into the sunset with.
Hopefully Jaeon009 gets struck by some more inspiration and draws up a few more of these because it has a really nice vibe to it.
Even though there’s no news of any Marvel vs. Capcom 4 as of yet, given Capcom’s heavy focus on crossover content for Street Fighter 6 there may be hope in the future to get some Marvel costumes in there… and hopefully for more than just the World Tour avatar.
