Arsenal are ready to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, journalist Tancredi Palmeri has told talkSPORT, but the player is waiting for a move to Juventus.
The striker, who has scored 17 goals in 21 games this season, looks ready to move – either this month or in the summer – with this contract expiring next year.
Some of the biggest clubs in the world are reportedly interested in the 21-year-old, with the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid, and Manchester City linked with him.
However, it’s Arsenal that Palmeri say have made the most ‘concrete’ offer for the Serbian – but his desire to move to Juve could be a stumbling block.
“Vlahovic, back in October, was promised by Juventus that they would come for him at the end of the season and that, for him, was enough to not accept anything else,” Palmeri told talkSPORT.
“Last summer, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid bid around €60million, which maybe is around £50m?
“Around a month later, Juventus made him aware that their intention was to sign him but, due to their financial problems, they couldn’t guarantee that it could happen that summer.
“Fiorentina are very angry because selling a player from Fiorentina to Juventus is like going from Tottenham to Arsenal. They are very angry.
“Fiorentina offered him an extension to his contract that would increase his salary a lot and they asked him to stay for this season and next season.
“But he said no, he wants to go when he wants and where he wants.
“Fiorentina has exposed this attitude from Vlahovic and has worked extensively across Europe because they don’t want him to go to Juventus because they know that the fans will crucify them.
“They have worked extensively, especially with Premier League clubs, and the one that was the most concrete was Arsenal, and the offer from Arsenal to Fiorentina is good to go.
“It is good enough and it’s the price they want. He can go now, in January.
“The thing is that Vlahovic is still thinking, ‘Okay, I will wait for you Juventus’.”
