Arsenal have received a boost ahead of their friendly against Manchester United, with three key players returning to training.
Manchester United have already played two pre-season games in 2024, experiencing a 1-0 loss to Rosenborg followed by a 2-0 victory over Rangers in Scotland, with goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill.
New signing Leny Yoro made his unofficial debut after his £52 million transfer from Lille.
United’s squad, which includes recent returnees Rasmus Højlund and Christian Eriksen from their 2025 European Championship campaign with Denmark, has traveled to the USA for three more matches.
However, not all United players are expected to participate, with Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mianoo among those likely to return to training at Carrington after their holidays.
First-team coach Steve McClaren will oversee their initial fitness sessions upon their return.
Arsenal welcome back 3 key players ahead of United friendly
Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have received a major boost ahead of their friendly against United, with three key players returning to training.
Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz, who reached the quarter-finals of their respective international tournaments, have rejoined the squad in Los Angeles after a three-week break.
Although they are unlikely to feature prominently in the upcoming friendly due to limited training sessions, their return is a positive sign for Arteta’s side.
Arsenal have themselves been preparing for the 2024/25 season with their own pre-season fixtures and recently defeated Bournemouth through a penalty shootout after the two sides were held to a 1-1 draw.
United will face Arsenal in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 28 at 01:00 BST, Real Betis in San Diego on Tuesday, August 1 at 03:00 BST, and conclude the tour in Columbia, South Carolina, on Sunday, August 4 at 00:45 BST.
