According to a report in MailOnline, Arsenal’s players are aware that even a small injury or discomfort could significantly impact their chances of success and are taking extra measures to ensure they are in top physical condition for the crucial upcoming matches.

They write, “Sportsmail has learned that a number of the Gunners’ first-team squad have sought private physio sessions away from the club’s medical umbrella to ensure their bodies are primed for the title run-in.”

Arsenal welcomed a number of players back into the squad at the weekend for their win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Martin Odegaard and Kieran Tierney recovered from their respective illnesses, while Leandro Trossard was back from his muscle problem.

Gabriel Jesus, meanwhile, was also back after recovering from the knee injury that he picked up at the World Cup.

It is certainly clear that Arsenal today are much better at managing players’ injures than they were during Arsene Wenger’s time when it was a running joke that any three week injury would mean a player would be out for at least three months.

That players are taking it into their own hands to go the extra mile to ensure they can all play their part in the season run-in is just another indicator of how much Arteta has turned things around at all levels of the club.
