With the transfer window now officially closed, Manchester Untied have officially missed out on one of their transfer targets, with Arsenal swooping to take their man.
The Red Devils have done well this transfer season, having signed some truly impressive players in the form of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte.
On top of these first team signings we’ve also seen youngsters Samuel Lusale, Sekou Kone and Chido Obi-Martin signed to bolster the youth ranks.
However, United have missed out a talented winger who came into the equation late in the game.

In an out of the blue announcement of interest, Chelsea began looking to Jadon Sancho as a key transfer target last weekend. As part of the initially reported deal, Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling were to be used as a duel player swap for Sancho.
However, United were understood to have begun separate conversations about Sterling thanks to Dan Ashworth’s appreciation of the winger. His admiration of Sterling dates back to when the pair worked at the England camp together between 2013 and 2019.
Unfortunately for Ashworth, United seem to have missed out on their last minute target, with the 29-year-old currently at Arsenal’s training ground ahead of a season-long loan.
Sterling has been told that he has no future at Chelsea under the new manager Enzo Maresca, so is set to see the rest of the season at the Emirates.
The move to Arsenal also marks a reunion with Mikel Arteta who was assistant manager at Manchester City during Sterling’s time with The Citizens.
The pair won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a Community Shield whilst working together under Pep Guardiola’s leadership, and no doubt, Arteta will be hoping for the same again in London this time.
