The moment the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics was revealed back in June the fighting game community began salivating in anticipation of finally getting the chance to play classic arcade titles on modern consoles at home, and our wait is finally over.
September 12 marks the official launch date for the MvC Collection that features the first six Marvel vs. Capcom entries (and The Punisher side-scrolling beat ’em up) and Capcom has released a new launch trailer for the occasion.
The MvC Collection is now available digitally on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The physical version will be available for PlayStation and Switch consoles on November 22, and the digital Xbox One version of the game will be released some time in 2025.
The titles you’ll get with the Collection include X-Men Children of the Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom Clash of Super Heroes, Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, and the aforementioned The Punisher.
For Capcom fans, fighting game enthusiasts, comic book and Super Hero aficionados, and everyone in between, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics offers a timeless celebration of a legacy fighting game series, delivering a diverse roster of iconic characters, enhanced features, and competitive gameplay.
Relive the nostalgia or discover enduring classics for the first time, uniting fans of all generations in celebration of Capcom’s legendary fighting game series, and stay tuned for more information on the collection in the coming months.
These older games did not have as many bells and whistles as modern ones, but developers have taken extra measures to add some quality of life upgrades to the MvC Fighting Collection. These include online modes, rollback netcode, training modes in all six fighting titles, a quick save feature, jukebox, museum featuring old art from all titles, and more.
