Antony’s short-lived tenure at Manchester United has officially come to an end.
The Brazilian winger has departed Old Trafford after a disappointing stint that fell short of the expectations accompanying his high-profile arrival.
Signed in the summer of 2022 for a hefty fee from Ajax, Antony came with the promise of flair, creativity, and the ability to deliver in big moments.

However, his time at United was marked by inconsistency, and he struggled to adapt to the physicality and pace of the Premier League.
Across his two-and-a-half-year stay at United, Antony made 96 appearances in all competitions, contributing 12 goals and five assists.
While there were flashes of brilliance, such as his curling strike against Arsenal in his debut, those moments were too few and far between.
Many fans criticized his lack of end product and tendency to fade in critical games.
Under managerial changes and amid the team’s broader struggles, Antony failed to secure a regular spot in the starting XI under Ruben Amorim.
His relationship with the fanbase and coaching staff was strained by a series of underwhelming performances and off-field distractions.

Manchester United has now offloaded Antony to Real Betis in a deal that sees the Spanish club taking over the majority of his wages, reportedly around £175,000 per week.
The agreement includes a loan move until the end of the season confirmed by the club, with no obligation or option to buy in the deal.
This marks a new chapter for Antony as he seeks to reignite his career in La Liga.
For United, his departure offers a chance to recalibrate their attacking options and free up resources to invest elsewhere.
Fans will hope that both the player and the club can find the success they envisioned when he first arrived in Manchester.
