After 9 seasons, Anthony Martial is no longer an official Manchester United player.
The club decided to release the player on a free and Martial left the club when his contract expired.
Having spent so long at the club, Martial was emotional in his farewell message.
But the 30 cap France international is now facing up to a future away from Manchester.
Martial is no stranger to playing in different countries and environments. Not only has he played at United in England, but he played for Lyon and Monaco in France as well as Sevilla in Spain.
Clubs from the likes of Saudi Arabia, the USA and even in his native France were linked with signing Martial. Due to that, it seemed that his next stop would be outside of English football.
However, if reports are to be believed, it seems that his representatives were hoping to make his next destination a top four English Premier League rival.
Anthony Martial to stay in England?
Tottenham Hotspur insider Paul O’Keefe has responded to a question on X and stated that Martial had been offered to Spurs.
Spurs are looking to kick on in manager Ange Postecouglou’s second season at the club.
Having just missed out on UEFA Champions League football by finishing fifth in the league, Tottenham fans will be hoping that they bring in some fresh faces to help their team get over the line in the upcoming campaign.
But Anthony Martial won’t be one of them.
According to O’Keefe, the club have no interest in the player currently.
That could always change, of course. You can never say never in football.
But what’s clear is that his agents have tried to keep him in England.
So it’s not out of the question that Anthony Martial could be playing at Old Trafford again next season.
