Anthony Martial has recently taken to X to confirm his departure from Manchester Untied after nine years at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman joined the Red Devils from AS Monaco in 2015 for a total of €60 million after an impressive fifteen goals and eight assists in 70 games across all competitions.
This successful run in Ligue 1 not only secured his transfer to United, but it also get his first call up to the French national squad in September 2015 under manager Didier Deschamps. With 30 caps to his name and two international goals, Martial has preformed well on the international stage, having made the squad taken to the 2016 European Championships, although unfortunately missed out on the 2020 competition due to a torn knee ligament.
During his time at United, Martial has made 317 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring a total of 90 goals across all competitions with a further 47 assists.
During this time, Marital has been a key player to lifting some of United’s ever growing set of silverware, including; the Europa League Trophy, the FA Cup, the English League Cup twice and the English Super Cup.
Posting on X, Martial has said: “Dear Manchester united fans,
“It’s with great emotion that I write to you today to say goodbye. After nine incredible years at the club, the time has come for me to turn a new page in my career.
“Since I arrived in 2015, I have had the immense honour of wearing this shirt and playing in front of you, the best supporters in the world! You have been an unwavering support, through the good times and the difficult. Your passion and loyalty have been a constant source of motivation for me.
“I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you’ve done for me. Your songs, your encouragement and your love for the club are memories that will remain engraved in my heart forever.
“I would also like to express my gratitude to all my team-mates, technical staff and all the members of the club I have met during my 9 tears here. I am proud to have been able to share these experiences with you.
“Manchester United will always be in my heart. This club has left its mark on my career and offered me an incredible opportunity to play in front of you. I’m leaving to take on new challenges, I’ll always be a Red Devil and I’ll continue to follow he club’s results with passion.

Despite Martial’s confirmation of leaving the club with his contract coming to an end, it’s unsure where the Frenchman will be playing next.
