Another Facebook user writes to Gov Ayade over communal war in Abi Local Government Area

Talking about security and the likes as the statement released by Governor Ben Ayade at the Peace Park in Calabar, a Facebook thought Ayade neglected something.

See what he wrote below…

For many decades now the good and peace loving people of Adadama community in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River state have been suffering incessant violent attacks from its neighbours of Ameogo in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. A situation that has resulted to the loss of countless lives and the destruction of properties worth millions of scarce naira. The effect of this menace has placed the people in untold hardship as the economic and social  life of the people has been completely stagnated for a long time. Daily the people live in perpetual fear of attacks from these fellows.

Recently the people were woken to another sad day as another attack was lunched, This is one out of the many attacks that have been carried out on these loving and innocent citizens of Adadama.

We want to state emphatically clear that we condemn in strong terms the recurring attacks on the people of Adadama by this  people and we call on the government of both states at all levels to come together and ensure that the remote cause of this fracas is identified and peace restored for the sake of the harmless and defenceless citizens of those communities.

As peace loving citizens we remain committed to the ideals of peaceful coexistence with our neighbours but however we refuse to be cowed by this.
We want to remind the government that one of the primary duties they owe us as citizens is the security of our lives and property and failure to live up to this is antithesis to the primary functions of governance.

We therefore demand a permanent resolution to this lingering crisis. We will not hesitate to take to the street to demand for our rights if the government continues to show a blind eye to this crisis.  We cannot continue to seat and watch our love ones being separated from us in such a horrible manner.

We empathise with the families of our fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and friends who lost their lives on that faithful day and we pray for the repose of their soul even as we continue to pray for peace to reign in our land.

Thank you.
