Another baby (about a year old) has been abandoned in a waste bin in Calabar, Cross River State Capital.
THE PARADISE NEWS gathered that the baby (lifeless) was abandoned in the early hours of Thursday in the waste bin at Ekorinim II Junction by Calabar Sports Club, Murtala Mohammed Highway, Calabar Municipal Local Government Area.
According to an eyewitness, the baby who looked sick (like someone with sickle cell disease) and malnourished, was already dead when found on Thursday morning.
This is the second time in March 2022 that a baby has been abandoned along Murtala Mohammed Highway – in the same area.
The first was a newborn baby abandoned in a waste bin on March 1, 2022, at Calabar-Calabar (RCC) Roundabout, closed to the Navy Reference Hospital – a few metres away from the Calabar Sports Club.
The newborn who was abandoned at night was already dead the following morning when discovered by a man who scouts for pieces of condemned metals.
In recent times, THE PARADISE NEWS has reported many incidents where people abandoned babies in different locations across the Calabar metropolis.
