In just over a month, Street Fighter 6 will be crowning its first world champion at Capcom Cup X, and a lot has happened and changed in this game to get to that point.
Two of the best competitors that’ll be battling for that crown, NASR|AngryBird and 00|Phenom, recently came together to craft a collaborative SF6 tier list to cap off their trip to Japan.
Chun-Li is the first character the duo place up in S tier after facing the Japanese pros with them praising her corner control pressure, conversions off of a multitude of options, great damage when optimized and tools to fit almost any scenario thrown her way in the hands of a top player.
Luke is put one spot ahead of her with his ridiculous damage output, great Drive Rush and of course some of if not the best pokes in the game although that’s still not enough to get him the top spot.
There’s been a lot of talk from this camp about Ken’s placement with Phenom previously questioning Japanese pros on their top 5’s like Rohto|Tokido, RB|Gachikun, BST|Daigo Umehara and others trying to show that he’s not among the very best despite the character’s tournament results.
After all that, they still put their main Shoto in S tier, but just outside of their top 5 because the pro duo feels that he struggles or loses against their top 5 when fully optimized (or at least what they’re saying right now).
Ken has a lot of tools, but is easier to be punished for things like whiffs, blocks and parries than the other top tiers.
They also have some other interesting placements to be found like Lily and A.K.I. up in A tier while nobody on the roster is below a B.
