An angry on July 10th burnt two elderly men, identified as Chief Bassey Ekwe, 69 and Mr. Asuquo Effiong, 72 over accusation of witchcraft at Ikot Efanga, Akpabuyo, Cross River State.
One of the deceased son, Obori Bassey told newsmen that the issue started when a young man died in the community, and the family members of the dead young man went ahead to consult a traditional priest whose name is identified as Monday Augustine, who promised them what they seek.
As promised, Augustine led the family of the dead young man with the corpse alongside parading round the community while chanting incantations and conjuring some unfamiliar spirits.
Bassey later added that, they first came to their house where the traditional priest pointed on his father, accusing him of killing the man. Then, immediately, the family members of the dead young man started pouncing of his and set him ablaze.
