Amy Robach joined the ABC morning show back in 2012. She then took over the post-Good Morning America timeslot as host. This happened after the series “Pandemic: What You Need to Know” morphed into “GMA3: What You Need to Know”.
T.J. Holmes was brought on board by ABC News in 2014. He quickly became good friends with Robach and was later named her co-host.
Robach had some words to share about Holmes. “You couldn’t have picked a better person to ask me what I thought of,” she told People. She added, “We’ve been trying to figure out a way to work together for literally the last five years.”
Holmes, for his part, was described by Robach as “like my brother”. Holmes chimed in, “We just can finish each other’s sentences. We get along so well.” He emphasized the importance of trust on set, saying, “But I know no matter what I do or say, he’s got my back and vice versa, and that’s everything.”
Robach also let slip a fun fact about their personal lives. She and her husband, Andrew Shue, often go on double dates with Holmes and his wife, Marilee Fiebig.
