We recently got a sneak peek at Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1, though we’ve yet to see any of his actual gameplay. Since then, fans have been trying to figure out Homelander’s voice actor.
For some time, it was believed that Andrew Bowen, the voice actor for Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 1, was portraying the character due to comment he made on Instagram shortly after the trailer dropped. Later, Bowen made sure to clarify the misconception.
“Been looking forward to this f—er finally dropping, sine we recorded it,” said Bowen originally on Instagram. Along with the picture of Homelander, it’s easy to see how fans could misinterpret what Bowen was actually stating here.
What Bowen apparently meant is that he’s been looking forward to hearing how his character, Johnny Cage, interacts with Homelander with regards to intro dialogue banter between the two. This seems to suggest that there are some fun exchanges that will be heard after the next DLC fighter is released.
Ultimately what this means is that we still don’t know the voice actor for Homelander. Bowen himself would later add that even he doesn’t know who voiced Homelander due to the nature of how voice recordings are handled.

Much to the dismay of fans of The Boys, it would seem that Antony Starr is not the voice of Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1. This should be easy enough to deduce considering how much NetherRealm Studios advertised how J.K. Simmons was reprising his role as Omni-Man while John Cena did the same for Peacemaker.
This comes across as a little odd considering that Antony Starr’s net worth is estimated to be around $2 million while Simmons and Cena have net worths of $20 million and $80 million respectively. Based on this, one would assume that Simmons and Cena would be more difficult to negotiate with in terms of a voice acting role for Mortal Kombat 1.
When previously asked if Starr was voicing Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1, Starr simply responded that he voices Homelander in Call of Duty and that fans should go play that. The exact reason why Starr isn’t the voice actor for Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1 has never been officially confirmed, but this seems to imply that something didn’t work out during contract negotiations, assuming those even happened in the first place.
Regardless, we’re still in the dark about the identity of Homelander’s voice actor for Mortal Kombat 1. We may just have to wait until the character releases and see if the individual’s name appears in the credits.
