The new Cross River State Chief Image Maker, Mr Eric Iso Anderson has declared his intention to lead aright under the new dispensation in order to achieve the set vision of the Ministry and policy direction of the Senator Prof. Ben Ayade led administration.
Commissioner Anderson, who bared his mind at CRBC Ikom on completion of his maiden familiarization visits to all Departments and Parastatals under the Ministry of Information and Orientation, which commenced immediately after his redeployment by Governor Ayade on Tuesday, 10th January,2023 from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, expressed confidence that Governor Ayade is poised to end his eight years two-term tenure on a high, stressing that all hands must be on deck to guarantee seamless realization of target objectives.
The Commissioner stated further that Governor Ayade has achieved so much in the last seven and half years especially in the area of industrialization of the State economy through the establishment of at least a cottage industry in each of the State’s eighteen Local Government areas, emphasizing that the publicity of these deliverables for public consumption will take the front burner in the remaining five months of the administration and sued for greater support from management and staff of the Ministry and her Parastatals.
Mr Anderson also restated his readiness to continue with all publicity initiatives such as publications of Daily News Bulletin,Magazine, Newspaper, Across the State, the Village Square, massive online presence on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, WhatsApp, WeChat, e-mailing, amongst others, adding that the Bi-Weekly Ministerial Press Briefing by Heads of MDAs would commence on Tuesday,17th January, 2023 at the Ministry’s Conference Hall, even as more initiatives shall be deployed to guarantee delivery in the days ahead.
He directed CRBC Management to initiate modalities to restart 24 hours broadcasting for Radio and Television as a way of re-gaining public confidence, amassing advertisements as well as increased revenue generation, while making on-the-spot release of personal funds and immediately repairing the Outside Broadcast Van, which this Sunday has already commenced live coverage of Government events, political rallies, religious crusades and worships.
Commissioner Anderson assured that the Cross River State Newspaper Corporation (CRSNC) will soon get government’s desired attention after the EndSars destruction, noting that as Chairman of the State EndSars Destruction Collation Committee, he has appeared before the Senate Committee several times to defend the State presentations even as Governor is in touch with the relevantq0a Federal Government Office to fast-tract release of funds aimed at restoring CRSNC old glory as one of the oldest State-owned Newspaper publishing house in Nigeria.
At the Cross River State Advertising and Signage Agency (CRISSAA), the Information and Orientation Boss lauded the Director General, Mr Effiom Effiwatt and his management team for working above board and sued for sustenance while at CRBC Ikom, Mr Anderson appreciated the Staff for holding the forte inspite of obsolete equipment and harsh working environment. In line with his pragmatic disposition, the Commissioner again released personal funds to kick start the repairs of the Station’s operational vehicles (Hilux Van and Bus) so that aggressive marketing and news sourcing can commence without delay in order to upscale the broadcast hours of the Station amidst absence of public power supply challenges.
At the CRBC Odukpani transmitting Station, the Commissioner deplored the poor environmental condition and staff attitude to work and directed the affected officers to report to his office immediately for further necessary action.
Commissioner Anderson assured staff of the Ministry’s Headquarters of his commitment to look inwards to improve on the work environment and make the offices more habitable and condusive, stressing that efficient service delivery remains his top priority, while soliciting for the cooperation of all.
In their separate responses, the Director of Administration in the Ministry, Chief Thomas Atem, General Managers of CRSNC, CRBC Calabar and Ikom as well as Director General of CRISSAA, respectively congratulated Commissioner Anderson on his redeployment and pledged to work in tandem with the renewed vigour to achieve desired results.
