An election observing body, TAF Africa, has caution its adhoc staff deployed to observed the Saturday November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State to be vigilant while observing.
The group stated this at a one -day training of it observing staff tagged; “training for an inclusive Anambra governorship election, held at Onitsha, on Tuesday.
According to Mr Adeolu Killanka, the TAF- Africa’s programme manager, the training funded by the European union is to educate the observers including persons with disabilities and the media on how to professionally monitored and document occurrences during and after the election.

“We are training them on how to be vigilant and report intelligently across their designated polling units. We are educating them to play along with all the participants including the security operatives and the voters. We are deploying a total 150 observers in this election. We are also in the election to protect, majorly the interest of persons with disabilities.
“The training was to make sure that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) complies with the Section 54 (1,2) of the Electoral Act which allows priority voting for persons with disabilities.
“Every person with disability has the right to vote or be voted for and they should be given priority attention during the election.
“Persons with disabilities are among the most marginalized people and we are fight to see that the stigma is done away with. They should be given the opportunity to fully exercise their franchise without harassment.
Killanka, advised the trainees not to be in a hurry at their duty posts but to make sure that all the details of their job mandate are obtained to enable them give comprehensive reports during and after the election.
One of the facilitators and Senior Communication Officer of the organisation, Lynn Agwuncha, equally cautioned the trainees to report in a safe places, to be smart, compassionate, not to be partisan, avoid taking pictures in unsafe positions and not to grant interview on behalf of the organization.
The trainees in their separate interactions, assured the organization of a transparent, accurate and credible observation.
