The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Ozo Jeff Nweke, Tuesday, urged Anambra residents to come out and vote massively for him, assuring that the poll would be free, fair and credible as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Nweke disclosed this during a street to street roadshow cum campaign held across Awka, Amawbia, Nibo, Umuokpu, and Amaenyi communities in Awka South Local Government Area (LGA), adding that he was confident that the election would equally be violent free as already assured by the police and the electoral umpire.

According to him, with massive support already received from people throughout the electioneering campaign period, there is hope that he would emerge victoriously because people were desirous of change. The people decision, according to him, would enable him to achieve his dream of supporting Anambra State to be productive, industrious and secured for all to thrive in their respective businesses and endeavours.

He said, “I’m that change Anambra people desire. I will never fail you as come out and vote en-masse for me on Saturday. So, I am encouraging you to come out. There will be no violence. No one will be intimidated to vote against his wish.

“If you can match your words with action, I believe I will be declared the next governor of Anambra State. I do not foresee any security issues during the election. As a security professional, I can confidently say that the security operatives are well-prepared. From my professional assessment, there will be no disruptions.”

The AA flag bearer, while commending the INEC and its new National Chairman, urged candidates to be committed towards upholding the sanctity of the election in line with the peace accord earlier signed in the week.

“We were present at the signing of the peace accord, and all candidates pledged to accept the outcome of the election in good faith. The new INEC Chairman has assured us that this election will be credible and transparent, and we are holding him to that promise.

“Therefore, I am calling my fellow contestants to play the game by the rule. Elections should not divide us. What matters most is the good governance and prosperity of Anambra. If, at the end of the day, the people choose otherwise, I will gladly accept their decision and continue to contribute to the development of our state,. I wish others can do this too,” he added.

It was gathered that the road show acknowledged massive support of people from all walks of lives as they trooped out to support and hail him.
