Youth from Enugwu village, Nnaka community in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, has allegedly accused Engr. Okey Ezeudu-led Ositadinma Development Union (ODU) leadership of witch-hunting development in the area.
The youth in a statement signed and made available to Journalists in Awka on Tuesday by its leader, Comrade Chimemile Okafor, expressed worried over developmental backwardness in the village and Nnaka community as a whole.
According to Okafor in the statement, “The current ODU chairman, Engr Ezeudu had continued to cross limits in the administration of community affairs despite all advices to maintain decorum.

“We the entire youths can no longer bear his excesses and therefore we have decided to convey our advice to the genera! public; maybe he may oblige.
“The election that delivered the current chairman wouldn’t have taken place safe for the promise of amending the 2015 controversial community constitution which was given to our youths on the election day..
“The constitution in question paves way for fraudulent activities orchestrated by community affairs managers and therefore must be amended as agreed during the August 2024 election.
“We are the people at grassroots in this Enugwu village, the future hopes of our community, the recipients of any atrocity committed by the community executive and can at any time spot out anomalies in any of our community administrators just as in this one.
“There has been gross abuse of power by Engr, Okey Ezeudu and we can no longer tolerate such, for instance, he carries out on his own some major policies which are supposed to be deliberated by the general body.
“On execution of each of those policies, he will line up his executive and take pictures to deceive Umu Enugwu like if he carried them along.
“Umu Enugwu have been living in factions but late last year, Umu Enugwu decided to come together in order to pursue a peaceful community which if is understood can propel effective community development and on this ground we jointly elected this Engr. Okey Ezeudu.
“We the youths today speak with one voice and no one, not even Engr. Okey Ezeudu can subject us anymore to further factions. His leadership invariably tends to force Umu Enugwu to continue in factions and our response is; God forbid.
“We have many exemplary proofs of the above but will just limit ourselves to these few as bellow;
“Engr. Okey Ezeudu ridiculed the entire village when he stopped the Anambra state rehabilitation project in our community health center which made our Local Government Chairman to visit our community for the first time towards end of first quarter of this year and when our Mayor visited for the second time same year to settle an outstanding matter between Efficient Petroleum Limited the makers of Rock Tama spring water, he (Ezeudu insulted the entire village when he admitted before the Mayor that he has not read the lease agreement between Efficient Petroleum Limited and Ositadinma Development Union (ODU), agreement which empowers Rock Tama to carry out general maintenance in the environs and that includes lyi Ofia (the source of Rock Tama water bottling company) from time to time.
“Engr Ezeudu brought shame to the entire community by disobeying the constituted authority; the Orumba North Local Government when he rejected in writing, an invitation by Mayor to come to Ajali, the Council Headquarters. The invitation contained an instruction that Engr. Okey Ezeudu should not disturb the good work of erosion checkmating going on at lyi Ofia section of the town. Although the matter between Efficient Petroleum Limited and ODU eventually was settled by Mayor on his visit and the parties thanked the Mayor as they went home happy. We are happy the matter was resolved during Mayor’s visit. The Mayor ruled that Engr. Okey Ezeudu shall assist in repairing what he demolished at lyi ofia.
“Engr. Okey Ezeudu hired fully armed security personnel of Udogachi from Aguata Local Government Area of the State outside jurisdiction instead of from our Orumba North Local Government which makes him a rascal. A rascal is not fit and cannot be allowed to chair ODU executive. The Udogachi men as a result arrested and detained our youth leader Mr. Ekene Osisioma at Isuofia community.
“Sometime this year also, Engr. Okey Ezeudu, in his gross abuse of powers, drove the nurses at the community health center which made a woman deliver baby at the premises of the health center.
“Engr. Ezeudu without the knowledge of the community, wrote to the Government of Prof. Soludo that governor’s choice of road from Afor Udo which connects Awgbu -Amaokpala road and which was our governor’s promise during his campaign flag off at Enugwu Village, that Enugwu village does not need the road. According to him, the road will course or increase insecurity. We are seeing it as a desperate idea to frustrate the good plans of governor Soludo in our village.
“Now with the above and many unwritten, we the youths of our village plead with Mayor to help our community which sincerely wants our community development, in any way possible to bring about sanity.
“We therefore demand that Engr. Okey Ezeudu be commuted with a caretaker committee in order to avoid breakdown of law and order which may course bloodshed in our Enugwu village community,” Comrade Okafor commended.
