Anambra Police PRO, Ikenga Receives IGP Meritorious Award

Anambra State Police command PPRO SP Ikenga Tochukwu receiving IGP award in Abuja on Wednesday.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, has been honoured by the Police High Command.

Ikenga’s award, presented by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), recognizes his significant contributions to enhancing the image of the police both in Anambra State and across Nigeria.

At the awards ceremony held in Abuja on June 4, 2025, SP Ikenga acknowledged that the award is not a personal achievement but a collective effort.

He said that the recognition reflects the combined dedication of the officers and men of the Anambra State Police Command.

According to Ikenga, “This award is the result of a collaborative effort by all personnel within the Anambra State Police Command, driven by a renewed vision and a deeper commitment to excellence.”

“This award does not make me extraordinary. I carry it with honour and humility, alongside a fierce determination to do even more. I have witnessed men and women who embody the very best of our nation, officers who, through hard work, sacrifice, courage, and character, have risen above the call of duty.

“My greatest resource is the trust of the people we serve, and we are ready to serve you better. Please continue to hold us accountable. Your feedback informs many of the decisions we make as a Command,” he said.

According to him, the award serves as both a commitment and reaffirmation of the Anambra State Police Command’s dedication to protecting the public with courage and serving with compassion.

SP Ikenga expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you to the Inspector General of Police,Thank you to the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Zone 13, Thank you to the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State.

“Thank you to the Force Public Relations Officer, and finally, a very big thank you to everyone who believes in us.”
